Radiator no longer serves only for heating. It can also… cool.
Central heating system changes into central cooling system with one move. How can you do that?
Modern housing is getting warmer, and it’s possibile to heat with low-temperature heat source, working together with low-temperature radiators.
For a radiator to be able to heat in low-temperature (which is: effective one) it has to has a big surface area of contact with the air. Such are REGULUS radiators – wall radiators with highest heat exchange area on market.
Heating and cooling with REGULUS®-Revers radiators
Heat pumps are not only low-temperature heating, because their owners can use them in summer to cool down interiors. Condition: having the right equipment. In a word, you need revers radiators. Such appeared recently in the REGULUS®-system offer.
It is not possibile to effectively cool down interiors without forced air circulation by radiator insides, so to meet this function, it has to be equipped with a fan.
Fan coils pressent on the market, are relatively expensive products, and their convector construction (densly packed aluminium lamellas, which cause significant resistance of free flowing air) excludes effective heating without blowing through its interior with a fan. Whilst sometimes proposed air cooling with a surface heating working with a heat pump is definitely ineffective, because of lack of enforced air circulation – after all, cool air stays with the floor.
That is why, as the interest in heat pumps grows, revers radiators will become indispensible element of modern central heating installation during winter, and central cooling in the summer. In the warm house, despite having low-temperature heat source, radiators with minimal thermal inertia will allow their users thermal safety with varied weather conditions. They allow to adjust thermal comfort to your needs in much greater degree than surface heating, which has huge thermal inertia. Intelligent house of the future is possible only when using equipment that is quick, immediately reacting on our every possible demand.

· WALL MOUNTED AND TRENCH HEATERS FOR HEATING AND COOLING
Revers heaters REGULUS®-system are in fact, two-pipe fan coils.
What are the differences? They are not equipped with individual controllers. Nowadays, its much cheaper and effective to control whole C.H. system with central controller handling all devices connected to it. The possibilities of controllers are growing steadily, and installation should be modifiable. Revers do not have condenser, because is not anticipated to use them with ice water, in which the temperature descends below dew point – we don’t want freezer in house. With revers we want to lower the room temperature by 2-3°C. For effective cooling, the radiator has to be equipped with a fan.
Important REGULUS®-system reverse advantage that they have over typical two pipe fan coils, that with clipped out fan (simple and quick activity), throughout most of the heating season, they can work like “normal” heaters, which is heat through surface radiation and convection.
In the transitional period, which is about 70% of whole heating season, using fan assisted heater work is not necessary. Fan is clipped in the base heater in three situation: when we want to increase heating power, when we want to increase heating dynamics, and when we want to cool the room. Of course, the fan can be clipped in the radiator from the beginning of its use and permanently.
Cooling with heat pump can be done in two ways:
1. Natural cooling: by using low temperature of bottom source (ground or ground water) – without using heat pump compressor, the medium circulation in installation happens only with joint action of circulation pump of central heating installation (central cooling in this case)
2. Active cooling: through reverse on heat pump – heat pump compressor working in reverse mode + circulation pump of central heating installation.
In cooperation with various types of heat pumps, for the purpose of lowering air temperature in the room, besides of reverse heaters, you can use trench convectors with fan.
