Low temperature radiators in modern interiors
Solutions based on renewable, green energy sources are being used more and more often in modern construction. Low temperature heating often becomes a priority. Therefore, condensing boilers or heat pumps in combination with good thermal insulation of buildings are an increasingly popular solution. This solution means not only lower operating costs and high savings of thermal energy – for it is enough for the water temperature in the system to reached about 50 °C instead of 70 °C – but also is a guarantee of comfort. However, a heat pump itself is not enough, modern low-temperature systems require the use of low temperature radiators, which are characterised by the highest possible effective heat transfer surface, heat emission by convection and/or fan assisted circulation. The smallest possible weight of the heat dissipation system is also not without significance – its benefits can be appreciated in transition periods.
Construction of low temperature radiators
All REGULUS-system radiator systems are characterised by very high heat transfer surface. They perfectly fit into the aforementioned conditions, fully implementing energy-saving requirements in the construction industry and guaranteeing thermal comfort. They have about 50% more contact surface area with heated air than the same size panel radiators. Increased contact area means more efficient heating at low parameters of the heating medium. Therefore, Regulus radiators are low temperature radiators. Due to their specific construction they does not fall within the generally accepted definition of radiators. There are ribs, panels, or convectors by definition. They are composed of two systems: a copper water system and an aluminium heat dissipation system. In their design they are similar to a car radiator. System water flows in the copper coil, and the heat is transferred to the environment through aluminium heat emitters. Heating of spaces takes place in a mixed way through intense wide-angle heat radiation from a wavy surface and by convection. A high proportion of radiation from a large wavy surface of the radiator causes that the heat in the area is distributed very homogeneously.

In systems supplied with low temperature medium in transition periods when a rapid increase or decrease of the temperature is required, a heating system with a low total weight, which is a characteristic of REGULUS-system radiators, will do the job. A large total weight of the heat dissipation system results in a large thermal inertia, which virtually guarantees a systematic overheating or underheating of the spaces. Quick stopping of heating is not only important for heating costs but also crucial for comfort. With the rapid increase of sunlight in transition periods or to the emergence of unexpected heat yields, a correctly controlled system featuring REGULUS radiators quickly stops heating and equally quickly returning to work, providing economical and comfortable heating..
The heating system with a low total weight not only provides quick access to heat for the household members but also obtaining heat in exactly the desired amount. This type of heating system can be easily started and stopped, because its inertia is minimal. A low weight system can be used practically all year round, because the cost of starting heating for several dozen minutes to correct temperatures is very low.
The offer of REGULUS-system also includes versions of low temperature radiators significantly improving their efficiency in low temperature systems, eco-friendly heat sources such as condensing boilers, heat pumps, multi-source systems with a central heating buffer tank. One such version is the fan assisted wall-mounted radiator. The fan increases the cooling of the heating medium in the radiator, and hence increases the heat output to the room – you can therefore get more power without changing the size of the radiator..
The E-VENT version looks like other REGULUS-system wall-mounted radiators – with the difference that the bottom part the coalescing plate pack features an opening, inside of which are magnets for easy plugging in and out of the fan (or fans for longer radiators). Thanks to the fan, the unit heats with variable power, matching the user’s needs, increasing its power. It is also possible to control the heating dynamics.
Low temperature fan radiators for heat pumps
E-VENT radiators can work even after turning off or dismantling the fan, when they behave like a
standard water radiator. With an easy assembly and dismantling of the fan,
E-VENT radiator will be perfect for systems equipped with a standard central heating boiler working on higher parameters, which in the future will be replaced by an
ecological low temperature heat source (condensing boiler, central heating pump). In the first stage, the radiator will operate without a fan, and then after the change of the heat source to a low-temperature one, already with a fan.
Wide offer of low temperature radiators REGULUS-system
Another
low-temperature REGULUS-system radiator works well in low temperature systems, called
DUBEL, hich is an alternative to steel 3-panel radiators. The
DUBEL radiator is constructed of two bodies of
SOLLARIUS type radiators (with a flat top cover) connected in parallel in a common housing – thickness of 18 cm. The offer includes a rare solution on the market: a
radiator with a height of just 12 cm (+ mounting bracket – 8 cm in height) for installation in floors as an upright unit. This
low-temperature radiator, contrary to popular belief, does not reach gigantic proportions at a relatively high capacity. This solution not only
works great in systems with heat pumps, but also helps reduce the size of
wall-mounted radiators and can be used in areas with a high demand for heat.

All
REGULUS-system radiators can be used without restriction in open and closed
central heating systems as well as in any type of copper, plastic or traditional steel system. They
work perfectly with low-temperature heat sources – condensing boilers, solid fuel boilers and
heat pumps. Due to its construction, they are more
resistant to corrosion and pressure changes in the system, which significantly prolongs their lifetime. They are approved for use throughout the EU.
